Meet the Candidates

Jeannine Delwiche, PhD.

I’ve been a resident of Falls Township for 4 years. I’m running for Pennsbury School Board Director because I believe that education is essential to the function of our democracy, the strength of our community, and the value of our homes. I was formerly a tenured professor at the Ohio State University and have witnessed first hand how the shortfalls in early education translate into greater difficulties in college and careers. My sister is an elementary school teacher and my stepmother is a retired principal - I am fully aware of the sacrifices she and teachers like her make to reach their students. I want to do my part to build the world I want to live in and will bring a sense of stewardship to my role if elected. My goal as director would be to help ensure Pennsbury provides the best and most equitable education that our community can afford. I ask that you vote for me to be a Director of the Pennsbury School Board.

Joanna Steere, MD

I am the mother of two boys (ages 12 and 16, in 6th and 10th grades) currently enrolled in the Pennsbury School District. When we moved to the area five years ago, we chose our home largely based on the schools our children would attend. As education is important to us, I committed to supporting the district and taking an active role in making the district a positive place for all the children in our community.

Giving back to my community has always been important to me. As a result, I have reinvented myself multiple times, as life has taken our family to different communities: first as an MD Pathologist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania; then as a youth literacy advocate in rural central Virginia; and now as a frequent volunteer supporting our schools, as well as a yoga instructor encouraging better self care in these trying times. Since moving to the district, I have been active in the Eleanor Roosevelt PTO, as Executive Board Secretary for two years, co-chairing the establishment of our 501c(3) status, and also in the Pennwood PTO serving as co-chair of the sunshine committee for one year. I also served as the ER parent representative to the Gifted PAC for two years. I like to use my skills, as a critical thinker, a problem solver, a communicator, and an advocate for others, to address the most pressing needs I find in my community.

I would like to continue to serve the district as a Pennsbury School Board Director

. As a School Board Director, I will work to ensure that our schools are effectively and efficiently using community funds to achieve its mission of educating ”all students to become creative, ethical, and critical thinkers for lifelong success in a global society.” I will also work to effectively communicate the decisions of the board as clearly and concisely as possible to the community at large. By educating our children well, we promote growth and development of our community as a whole, encouraging new businesses and investments in the area by providing a well-educated local workforce, as well as providing the incentive of a high quality education for businesses looking to draw and retain qualified employees. As School Board Director, I look forward to helping maintain and grow our vibrant community.

My goals for the district:

  • Develop the children and teens of Pennsbury to their full potential, with the best education that supports the whole child.

  • Equitably distribute our resources, to ensure each child is supported as their needs require.

  • Maintain and refurbish our infrastructure, to ensure the continued education of all our children in a safe and conducive learning environment.

  • Support our teachers, staff, and administration, so that they can continue to provide our youth with a high quality education.

Linda Palsky, RN

I am a 40-year resident of the Pennsbury School District and the proud mother of three of its graduates, Jodi (1987), Andrew (1997), and Jill (2002).

I was a Pennsbury School Board Director for 12 years (1999-2011), and I always considered it a privilege to serve the school district and represent my constituents. During my tenure, I served as board president and vice president, negotiated staff contracts, hired two superintendents, and oversaw the renovations of multiple school buildings in our district. It was both a humbling experience and a great honor, and a distinction that I will always value.

Upon learning of the vacancy for Region 3 on the current School Board, I decided I would like to once again serve my community and the district in which I live by volunteering to fill this empty seat. I am honored to have been selected to serve in this capacity and look forward to meeting and representing the residents of Region 3.

I promise to do everything I can to ensure that we provide the best and most equitable education that our school district can afford. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns about our incredible school district.
